Hey, guys. I have a 2009 CC that came with a stock Premium 7 radio. I need some tech help.
I want to purchase an RNS-510 to replace the Premium 7. My car came equipped with, what I believe, is the 9W2 BT. Nothing was modified, and I believe when the car was manufactured (Jan 09) only the 9W2 existed, correct? Anyway, I have no idea where the BT is located to check it for sure.
If I want my phone contacts to sync with my RNS, which unit should I purchase? Does it matter? Can it be A, B, C and up? Or does it have to be C and up? I have no idea. Also, will they sync with my current BT, or will I have to upgrade to the 9W7?
Secondly, now if I want voice control I'll have to get at least a version E RNS, right? And a 9w7? Or can voice control work with a version C and a 9W7? Just trying to get some info and know what I need before making purchases.
Ideally, I'd like to not have to purchase more than I need to. I'd be happy with the cheapest RNS that will allow me to just sync my iPhone contacts to the HU screen and the MFD display (with steering wheel control). I'm hoping I can do that without having to replace my BT. Voice control isn't necessary for me, just an added bonus if it works out.
So PLEASE, someone let me know how this all shakes out. I don't want to overbuy an RNS if I don't need it. I'm new to VW, and am trying to learn as much as I can about my new car. PM me if that's better. Thanks!!
