hey guys, i just bought a 2002 1.8t jetta gls with 173k kilometers. just though id introduce myself and hopefully get some help with 2 issues that came up so far..
i drove it around for 15 minutes and it drove great, boost was good, i scanned it and no codes came up.
halfway through the drive back home, the CEL came on.i only have a obd2 bluetotoh adapter with the torque application(android) on my phone. i was able to scan it, but i cant clear it because the obd2 adapter i have is really ****ty. i got the code p1296.
i looked around and it seems to be the temp sensor, so i just went and bought the green temp sensor (one currently in the car is already green). is this the proper way to fix the p1296 code on my car?
also, there is a very light ticking sound coming from the center console. i cant tell what it is, it has nothing to do with how fast i am going, or how much throttle i use, it also doesn't matter if radio is on, and it also does not matter if the heating is on or off.any idea what this ticking sound could be(ill try to upload a video soon for the ticking sound)?
