so i got a ****ing 20 over ticket at 12:30am in the middle of batsh!t nowhere on my way up to sudbury. It was on a 4-lane highway around Parry Sound.
I'm cruising in the slow lane at 115-120ish just chilling out when I see a pickup truck police car(lolwut) merge onto the highway. Ok, so I pull over to the left lane.
Police then goes right up behind me, flashes the lights(sh!t!!) but just once and really quickly. OK? So I immediately pull over expecting to be pulled over but the cop just sped past me in the left lane.
After getting about 4-5 car lengths ahead of me, cop switches back into the slow lane. So now we're both in the slow lane, cop is in front of me, and i'm behind about 3 car lengths.
We're both doing 120 km/h. Cop suddenly switches to the fast lane and slows down to about 90 and I slowdown to about 100 because the cop is making me nervous now with the weird behaviour.
I pass the cop on the right doing about 100. As soon as I pass, cop flashes the lights and pulls me over.
VERY FIRST THING the fat b!tch YELLS at me is:
her: "WHAT'S YOUR PROBLEM TAILGATING ME?!"
Me: " Uh...sorry, excuse me? I was 3 car lengths behind you. I wasn't tailgaiting." (I know it souns like I was being an ass but i assure you, I was polite as I could possibly be, because I was seriously confused).
her: "uh yea that's called tailgating!! you were doing 130 km/h"
me: "I was doing 115-120 when you merged and slowed down to 100 when I passed you"
her: "uh yea so that means you were speeding"
She grabs my license/rental car documents. Comes back 10 minutes later and gives me a ticket for doing 120 in a 100. She even had the audacity to say, "I marked you down at the top of the ticket doing 130 but I reduced it to 120".
WHAT THE ACTUAL ****?!
Do I have any sort of chance to fight this? She has no record of me speeding, the only reason she pulled me over was because she was angry that I was following her(evn though I was 3 car lengths behind her).
She was also doing 120 so I was going the speed of traffic. The entire drive there cars were going 115-120 - that's the normal rate of traffic. I've passed cops around my area/toronto area hundreds of times doing 120 because that's the speed of ****ing traffic..
So do I have any chance to fight this? or am I screwed?
