OK, I’ve been meaning to start a thread for ages, where people can post their bargain buys.
Essentially its something that you have bought for your car (or even the car), which you got at a right bargain. Or even something you made yourself.
I like this idea as I bought my B6 Passat because I wanted the best car for the money I had at the time – don’t we all, and it seemed the better buy than a newer Vauxhall. I’ve since then made many additions to the car with lots more to come.
I guess the idea is a bit like the ‘built not bought’ idea, but most people who modify the cars themselves are usually in the trade anyway.
I don’t wish to be rude but anyone with the money could buy a fully loaded R36, but I do not have the money and therefore want to make the most of the car I have. (And if I had the money would be straight down to the dealer!!)
I also seem to have a knack of getting really good deals on stuff for the car, Mainly off eBay. Sometimes the adverts can be poor, with crap photos, or misspelt; or ending at the wrong time.
Anyway Ill start small with a reverse sensor which I have had my eye on on ebay for a while. I don’t like the idea of installing the separate sensors over the car and taking a hole cutter to my bumper. It is on eBay for around £40 including delivery, and they are much more in the shops (Halfords etc). Anyway, I was in my local car shop the other day and saw one for £20 reduced from £70, as it had been lying around and he just wanted to clear the stock; BARGAIN. It only took a couple of hours to install. Below is a picky
